Do you want to block certain apps from using Wi-Fi networks so, they should not get internet updates or notifications? A new jailbreak tweak called ConditionalWiFi2 allows you to block the Wireless network for certain apps. This may be useful if you want to block the notifications from an app or don’t want the app to receive the internet updates.
ConditionalWiFi2 works as it is advertised and blocks the wireless networks for specific apps preventing the apps from using the Internet. To block the Wi-Fi for any app, you will have to install the tweak and afterwards head over to the Wi-Fi section in the Settings app. There you will see a toggle next to each app. You can then allow the Wi-Fi for apps and also block it for apps too from there.
Nowadays, there are apps that track your data and receive all of your data from the background. This blocking feature is very useful in this case as it blocks the Internet for apps such as Facebook which track you while running in the background, receiving your data but with the help of ConditionalWiFi2, apps like Facebook will finally be prevented from tracking you.
If you are worried about apps falling back to the Cellular Data then you should not worry about it as apps will not fallback to Cellular Data if you are connected to a Wireless Network.
The tweak’s options can be configured from the Wi-Fi section in the Settings. If you are interested in the idea of blocking Wi-Fi for specific apps then you should try out ConditionalWiFi2. It is available for $0.99 from Cydia’s BigBoss Repo. It is compatible with iOS 10+ Jailbroken devices.
